How to add a blog post picture

To create a new blog post:
Duplicate the Template post from the Blog menu (on the left) Do not click the '+ Add New Post' button.
To change the image that will be seen in the published post - select the post from the Blog menu, go up to Post Settings (top menu) Featured image and Replace image choose a pic from the image library.
I've added the snake photo - the image box above will remain as the blank grey pattern image but it will be replaced by the snake photo on the published 'Andrew's Blog' page.
Here you can edit your blog post and add more images and text boxes from 'Add element' at the top of the menu on the left.
